The food and service were offered by attentive and informed staff. The chef, came out to introduce us to each course and explain the ingredients.
On our way back from Rio on Pools which was beautiful we stopped at this funky little place with drinks and food. Got to meet some great locals and have an excellent meal and some drinks after our long day. adventuring. cute little gift shop and great music and people
We stayed at the Lodge at Chaa Creek for 4 nights and ate breakfast and dinner here every day. They offer a wide variety of dishes at breakfast including some local dishes. For dinner the menu is somewhat limited - 1 soup, 1 salad, 4 main courses. We never had a problem finding something we liked, however. Food and service were both very good. Prices were reasonable even though we were a bit of a captive audience. Highly recommended.
If your looking for an excellent meal, this is the place! Service is prompt and friendly! Food is delicious and portions will satisfy a healthy appetite! That being said, those with smaller appetites can split the meals and be satisfied. The Burnz has indoor and sidewalk seating. One thing I really appreciated was that the music was kept at a level that you could carry on a conversation without yelling across the table. We ate there every day and when we needed to take out, we were allowed to use their cutlery and plates. We made friends with one of the servers, Patricia, and I miss her friendly smile and the visits we had with her. The Burnz is easy to locate especially if you stay across the street at Venus Hotel.
We had been living in Belmopan for 3 months and this was my favorite restaurant. The views are amazing, but are surpassed by the food and friendly staff. We recently returned to Belmopan after being gone for 2 months and we were greeted as friends returning for dinner. Definitely try to get here before sunset so you can watch the twilight settle in on the jungle forest while you enjoy the great food and drinks. We have tried many dishes, but my favorite is the pesto pasta dish. All of the specials have also been unique and flavorful. Can't wait for the outdoor pizza kitchen to be completed! Also- If you are looking for a great little hike to the top of the mountain, staff can help you get to the trailhead and then reward yourself with a great lunch.
This is one of our favorite lunch spots in town and we’ve never had a bad meal or experience. The food is great (try the soup!) and the staff are kind and efficient and professional. Also, and I’m not sure exactly why this is, it’s some of the best people watching around. We’ve been enjoying the place for years but this evening I was prompted to write a review because I left my purse at the table and our server literally chased me down a couple of blocks to our car to return it. It would have been so easy to just say: “she’ll realize and come back for it tomorrow”. It was a kindness and an extra effort on top of the excellent food and great service. If you’re looking for great food in a pleasant, relaxed environment with fantastic service you will love this place.
Great dinner at Running W. Much classier than many other places we have eaten at in Belize, and the price reflects it. My partner had the red snapper with cilantro which was divine. I had the pork chop which was slightly dry but the guava sauce delish. Best part of meal was the bread pudding which apparently was served to the Queen on her visit. It did not disappoint! We recommend this place! Nice outdoor seating too.
We went here because so many people referred it to us and the reviews were great. Restaurant is cute on the inside, very homely and welcoming feeling, there’s a cute little patio in the back. Food was pretty good. I asked the waiter what his favorite dish was and he said coconut fish so I did the same. It was very good, it was flavorful and delicious. Server was awesome and so nice. He definitely seem to like what he does or maybe has the Gift to gab but whatever it is, he’s extremely attentive and polite. Go try the food!
We had been recommended this place by at least 3 or 4 people so thought we’d try it for our first breakfast in San Ignacio. It has a large menu and you can get an American style breakfast. I had the fry jacks with egg and chaya which was really nice. My wife had the eggs with cheese and bacon and fry jacks. We would of given this a better review but the costs are high in comparison to other places and the market.
We were recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Easy to book, we had a table for four outside in a nice secluded corner. We had buffalo wings to start and then the Gado Gado chicken and a Chorizo/Shrimp burger to follow. Some of the best food we had in Belize, total bill for 4 was 204 BZ$ (£84) including drinks and service.
We were here on a Monday night and the place was busy. So busy that our poor server was responsible for all 5 tables. It took close to 45 minutes for our food to be served and our server was busy the entire time. The food was good, very "California"cuisine!
After a month in Belize We had our last meal at Erva's and if could not have been a better ending to our trip. We went late afternoon on a Saturday; the restaurant was uncrowded and we spent two hours + at the bar eating, drinking, and talking with the WONDERFUL people who work there. We had stir-fried chaya for an app; it's a leafy spinach-like vegetable that was new to us and is really tasty. We went with mild on the chaya and our other dishes too and it's good that we did, because they are not afraid of spice. My wife than had the veggie curry and I had the Creole shrimp...delicious! Not gonna lie here- it was our last night and we had plenty of drinks...wine, beers, cocktails. ALL GOOD! It was all splendid hanging with the staff, and like I said, we were there for more than two hours just having a great time as the only two people sitting at the bar. Thank you everyone....we loved Erva's and we LOVED meeting you!
Hode's was highly recommended by our guide, so we stopped in for lunch. The menu is Caribbean with many local dishes to try as well as tried and true favorites. We each tried something different, and ordered a sampler platter for the table. Everything was scrumptious! Service was fantastic and attentive. Pricing was really sweet as well. For three entrees, a sharable platter of appetizers for the table, and soft beverages the bill was under $25USD before tip. This will be one of our regular places when we move there in a couple months!
From the moment Ari greets you at the entrance, you know you are in a special place. The salads are always fresh and delicious. The fruit drinks are an excellent alcohol alternative, but they do have alcoholic beverages too. This is a restaurant where we always catch up with old friends.
We love ice cream and every trip we try and hit all of the ice cream spots we can find. The Ice Cream Shoppe did not disappoint. First night we each had a sundae, yum! Second night we opted for just one scoop each but that's only because we didn't want to spoil our dinners! Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed lunch at Martha’s restaurant with very prompt service and delicious Belizean cuisine at very reasonable prices. Our meal included the pork burrito (a jumbo plate that would have been enough for two meals), and chicken nachos, which we washed down with a large watermelon juice and a soft drink. Price for all was a little over US$12.
We were taken to Benny's after visiting the nearby ruins and upon the advice of the staff at Mystic River. It was a great experience for our large group of 8 and the menu had fabulous local options to please kids and adults. Stewed Chicken was my favorite and the salbutes were a great appetizer. Everyone loved their picks, drinks and smoothies.
Let's start with their problem - at present they are surrounded by massive roadworks - must be a misery for them, BUT all the more reason to take a little time getting over to their access point and going in. A real five-star shopping and eating experience - you will not be disappointed. The quality of the massive hand carved wooden bowls was awesome
All bakery items were beautifully arranged and displayed on store place, thats most easier to pickup or select the cutomers at shopping, really good at atmosphere inside the bakery and neat and cleaned surroundings, etc. sale and services perfectly managed here and order and queries were accpetable through phone calls. Cutomers provoken by repurchase from this store by quality products in an quantitative price, as well as good personal contacts amoung sales persons and customers direct and indirectly.
We had the pizza, chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, chips and cheese dip and Ribeye steak. Being from TX, we have been missing our Tex Mex so thought we would try the cheese dip - it was deliciously interesting! The Ribeye was not so great - had a strange aftertaste but the veggies were fresh and great. We arrived too late for the sunset view but the fireflies and zipline entertained our young kids. Prices are half what they are in Placencia for restaurants. A must try!
Truly great discovery. Most unexpected to find an Indian (actually Nepalese) restaurant in Belmopan. Although the restaurant is a simple place, set back from the road in an alley-cum-food mall to the side of the fire station, the food is very good indeed. The owner, Raj, and his wife, took such good care of us, even bringing little extras to the food we ordered, and doing dishes off menu. Definitely worth a detour!
We caught the “hungry?” “tired?” signs just outside of Ontario on our way to Spanish Lookout and are SO GLAD we stopped. Not just stopped … but turned ourselves around after missing it the first pass and went back. We both got pasta (pesto and alfredo) and it was incredible. THEN we found out the fabulous chef had been playing around with a new cheesecake recipe and it may be the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. Do not miss your chance to check this place out. You WILL NOT regret it! And tell Debbie the Sconnies say hi!
We ate breakfast at the New French Bakery twice during our three day stay in San Ignacio. We hade the banana pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, and chocolate croissants with coffee. Prices and excellent and the food was always tasty. This was a very nice find in San Ignacio. They also served lunch and has a list of very inexpensive items including sandwiches.
The best place for coffee in town. Super relaxed place with comfy seating and great wifi. We had freshly made raisin muffins, they were delicious along with a cappuccino & a mocha frappe. Highly recommend place to get out of the heat & enjoy great food and drink.
Off the main road but with a nice view. Prompt and friendly service. A local recommended the place and the Indian Tacos - and she was spot on! Great tasting and generous portion. Elmo, the owner, knows all about Caracol and has great taste in art - as well as helps to make a nice platter to go (for a day trip).
Sanny’s Grill came to me recommended by locals and it is really good i ended up going two times. There is a really good variety on the menu and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is also amazing it’s really cute and the service is excellent. Ask for the special if you can’t decide.
It was literally the only place I could find serving food after 2pm on this holiday . The food is much better than I expected from a “sports bar.” And the service from Ricky the bartender was super friendly and helpful. He even called multiple places to find us a taxi to our hotel (Ka’Ana) and negotiated the price for us which is half the price the front desk person at the hotel quoted for us ($10 Belize instead of $20 Belize).
I had the salted caramel espresso cheesecake which was to die for. Lovely little spot and very friendly staff
Delicious, cheap, and authentic. Food was great and milkshakes even better. Saw a lot of locals stopping by, which is always a good sign. Little hut hidden behind the plants on the Western highway as you enter Santa Elena directly across the street from the Puma station.
We popped in for a drink (and brownie) while waiting for our friends. I was happy to order a "Slooshie" which was a dairy free strawberry drink. The barista even wrote on my cup that said "Don't wait. The time will never be just right". We really liked that the "chairs" to sit at were actually swings. It had a really cool atmosphere.
