I am flying Westjet, departing from Calgary, AB at 12:05 am and arriving in Toronto at 5:50 am, then have one hour and 50 minutes to make a connecting Westjet flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My question is, do I have to collect my checked baggage in Toronto, take it with me to clear U.S. Customs, and then get my luggage to another Westjet counter to get it checked in for the flight to Ft.Lauderdale? Or does my checked baggage go straight through from Calgary to Ft Lauderdale?
At least, I am assuming I clear U.S. Customs in Toronto, and not Calgary, since the first leg of the trip is a domestic flight. My biggest concern is that, if I have to collect my luggage in Toronto, will I have enough time to get through customs and make the next flight?
