There isn't anyway around it. You agreed to the T&C's and any associated charges when you purchased the ticket.

So, just to clarify - you booked this ticket through Fly365? If so, you agreed to their Terms & Conditions - which includes the $100 dollar fee in addition to the base fee from the airline based on the class of ticket you purchased. I'm afraid there is likely no way around this given that you agreed to both esets of Terms & Conditions when you purchased your tickets. However, you can try and call Thai Airway's customer support and a particularly kind agent might be able to reduce the price, though, there will still be a cost.

Why do you need to change your ticket? Is it a reason that could be covered by your travel insurance (if you have travel insurance)?

When one decides to insinuate a 3rd party agent, between themselves, and the airline, they have accepted another layer of T&C’s, and must abide with both.

Best of luck,

Your ticket is “owned” by the 3rd party until you check in for the first flight. The airline can only make changes after that point.

Surely people must know there are nearly always additional fees to pay when you change a flight booking

There is no way around it, and if you book through a 3rd party rather than direct with the airline as always advised, there will be even more fees to pay

The only way to avoid the change fees is not to change your booking or buy a new flight.

You can't avoid the contract you agreed to. Sorry.

it might just be cheaper to not turn up and to book another flight. if you want to be able to change details of flights, you need to purchase REFUNDABLE tickets at a far higher cost, and even then, you would still have to pay the 100$ that you agreed to!

>> Other wise this going to be a first class flight in a economy. <<

unfortunately this is another example where you would have been better booking direct with the airline where the different fare rules are very clear

Thai offer Royal First Flexi and Royal First Plus - The latter (more expensive ticket) can have flight and date changed for free, the former (less expensive) requires fees to change

Sounds like with the charge fees you will pay slightly more than if you had bought the Plus ticket at the start
