Summer 2013 flight schedules?

We have a cruise booked for June 2013 leaving from Barcelona. We currently have the air add-on with the cruise line but hope we can do better on our own. However, we know which flight the airlines will likely put us on (non-stop red-eye, Delta ATL to BCN). That's the flight we'd like to take. While I know it's too early to book a flight for next summer, we have wanted to watch the prices through this summer and fall and into next spring just to get an idea of whether we'll really be able to do better on our own.

Anyway, we can't find the ATL to BCN non-stop route beyond October 28th, 2012, so I was thinking this might be a seasonal routing and if so, was wondering when the season might start up (April? May?). Because we'll be staying nearly a month, we can't book our flight as soon as our outbound would be available because we have to wait for our return flight date to also be available for booking.

Thanks for your advice.

Delta have 4 weekly flights ATL-BCN in Winter 2012/13 using 767-300ER.

And to follow-up, having the info about the 4 weekly flights let me work through Delta's site to find that they start daily non-stop flights in April. Thanks again!

Flights for next June will not be posted until sometime in July. The major airlines typically post fares starting 330 days out from the flight date. To get accurate pricing for your trip, you would need to check flights starting 330 days out from your return date.

There is also no guarantee that what gets posted in July will actually remain in June 2013. Expect several schedule, equipment and possibly even operating carrier changes in the year leading up to your flight. Really not worth worrying about now.

Even if you could book now (which you can't) this is far to early to be booking a flight. Leave it for a few months and keep an idea on how the rates go.

We know we won't be able to book until at least August because of when our return flight would be - and we wouldn't book quite that early anyway, but we have the air portion through the cruiseline and we think we can do better on our own - so we don't want it to sneak up on us and we miss the "sweet spot" for making the decision to "jump ship" with the airfare through the cruise line vs doing it on our own. We have a price point in mind that if we can get flights for less than that, it would be worth doing on our own, but if flights are more than that, we'll just enjoy the ease of doing it throught the cruiseline. It's just the air add-on for the cruise is $1800/person which is too much even when you factor in that it will include transportion from the airport to the hotel and onto the port (if we book hotel through them as well) and would be covered by the trip insurance that we have with the cruiseline. If we book air on our own, then we'd need a separate policy to cover the air portion - so we've been through the math to determine our price point for doing it on our own vs. leaving it as is. We've cruised several times and done the air through the cruiseline and it's been pretty close to what we'd have been able to do on our own each time; however, this time it just seems too much!

Thanks again for the input!
