taxi from train station to anantara

We will be arriving by train to Bin Thuan from Saigon on 23 Dec. We are due to arrive about 17.30. Will there be taxis available? Hotel want to charge $95 for 5 people. Is this reasonable?

Hotel transportation is always more expensive than other methods. Go to google map and see how far away your hotel is from the station. If you use taxi it may take 11000 to 15000VND/Km/car, if Uber is available (not so sure about this) then it can be cheaper.

Note that if you carry lots of luggage then you may need bigger car/taxi or more than 1 car.

I did a quick search, assuming your station is Ga Muong Man, then it is about 26-30KM away from the hotel, I also checked the local price for taxi which is about 16000VND/KM for 7 seats car so assuming you use 1 car you pay around 500000VND (less than 25USD) per car. Say if you want to be really comfy and use 2 cars then 50USD in total?

To be brutally honest 5 people with just carry on bags will be a tight squeeze in a 7 seater Toyota taxi so when you add suitcases to the equation it aint gonna fit.

So you're really looking at two taxis.

The resort was probably going to send a Mercedes 16 seat sprinter van hence the $95 quote.

At that hour there will be taxis waiting. It's passengers on the 3am trains that find it harder to get a taxi

Warm regards and travel safe in Vietnam, Dirty Pierre. .

Thanks for your help. I think I will get two taxis. And that will still be about half the price quoted by the hotel
