Curreny

Hi

We are travelling to sri lanker at the end of this month for two weeks and staying at the palms hotel on a B&B basis, can any one help with two things -

1 - Would you have an idea of how much money needed daily for food etc.

2- Are we better to exchange and take LKR with us from the uk or are we better to take cash or visa card and get it whilst there.

We are staying at the same hotel for two weeks as a chill out but do intend to travel a bit eat in some restaurants etc. so an idea of how much we would need daily would be ideal.

Many Thanks in advance

Aly & Hels

Hi A & H,

1] Rs 3000/person/day is ample for two meals and drinks. Often less.

2] See here

https:/…Banks.And.Money.html

don't get LKR outside, either bring ATM card or cash or both.

All the best,

Hi again,

Travel by public transport peanuts; by car-driver Rs 45/km (x 2) with some extra for waiting time. Maestro logo debit cards are accepted widely, search forum or your own bank site for the coverage of Visa debit if it has no Maestro logo.

All the best,

On a similar note - where is the best place to change money at the airport? Are there places before you collect your luggage/immigration? After? Which side has the best rates?

Currency exchange is located after luggage/immigration and on your left just prior to exiting the airport.they all give the same rates
