Hello, Anybody know who to book a private transfer with from Colombo airport to beruwala return? Thanks :-)Edited: 04 August 2016, 14:29
No need to prebook. Just get a cab from the transport desks on right side of Arrivals. And if you wish write down their number for the later return hire. Fair and fixed prices, should be around Rs 8,000 one way excluding tolls.
All the best,

Hello Erik, hope you doing well. Can I please ask you that to move around internally , what will be the best form of transportation. We will staying in beruwala for 4 nights and 5 days . What do you suggest us that we can do in these few days .and also how do we commute within beruwala to go to say a restaurant or a sight seeing place . This will be our maiden trip to Sri Lanka . We are two girls travelling . Any dos and don't will be highly appreciated. Much thanks.
See three other top questions next to the one recommended already for your money: on day trips from beach resorts, on public transport and on private transport. If all of your stay is Beruwela, stick to the options given in that day trip list. E.g. lowcountry tea plantations are possible, a safari park not.
All the best,
<Erik> & [Sandya]
If it's two girls general precaution need to be taken locally. For short distances trips you can use a tuk tuk. But longer trips you can use car/driver or public transport as well. As a eg: Colombo-Galle buses running with enough frequency along A2 main road. You can use them to move along coastal way. (eg Galle day trip).
But need to avoid crowded buses for safe side.Use air con ones as much as possible.
There are many restaurants near Beruwala, some are may be in walking distance so walk. But during night time use a tuk tuk to return to your hotel.
Hope this help a bit.
Thanks a ton for such quick response. Really appreciate.
Hello 245patr, It is nice to see that you have chosen my native place Beruwala as your first destination in your maiden trip to Sri Lanka. Welcome to Beruwala and Welcome to Sri Lanka. Since you are spending your time in Beruwala, the ideal transportation medium to commute within Beruwala would be three wheeler/tuk tuk. You can find this almost all the place around Beruwala. This is the cheapest medium as well. You can add following activities to your list too.
01. Fishing in Beruwala beach
02. Boat trip to Berbaryn Island

04. Ketchimala Mosque and Beruwala Harbour
05. Kande Vihara
