Hi : ) I would just like to get some opinions on what is the best affordable way to get from Lisbon to Odeceixe ? Thank you!!
You won't have much choice. There are only busses.
From Lisbon Sete Rios to Odeceixe, once a day at 17.30, arriving 21.05
Company: http://www.rede-expressos.pt/
Euro 17.80
An alternative is a bus (same company) to Santiago Cacem and switch to another bus from http://www.rodalentejo.pt/html/default.asp to Odeceixe (sorry, not in English). The timetables have older dates on it but the site was actualized recently.
No prices on the website.
Simple!
There is a coach daily departure from Lisbon by http://www.rede-expressos.pt/ as follows:
Lisbon Sete Rios Coach Station Dept: 17:30
Arrive Odeceixe: 21:05
There is a longer route.
Take the bus, (renex.pt, rede-expressos.pt) or train (http://www.cp.pt) from Lisbon to Lagos and connect with a http://www.eva-bus.com/ service:
Dept Arr
Lagos: Odeceixe:
08:45 10:01
13:45 15:07
16:40 17:58
18:20 19:38
19:15 20:33
Hope this helps!
Howse things down in the land of the golden banana, ekse????
Edited: 11 years agoMay I add that the EVA buses between Lagos and Odeceixe run only on weekdays except the 1345 which also runs on Saturdays. Likewise there is only one bus on Saturdays between Odeceixe and Lagos, at 0630am. There are no buses at all on Sundays and Holidays.
Similarly the buses between Santiago Cacem and Odeceixe mentioned earlier run only on weekdays. They do not run at all on weekends and holidays.
thanks for all the responses! really helps me out ALOT.
take care everyone , nasmate : )
Can someone tell me if the bus from Odeceixe goes to Lisbon airport? Also, if I am planning to take the bus on Good Thursday or Holy Friday will that be a problem, e.g. no bus service possibly?
No it does not. The bus goes to Sete Rios bus station in Lisbon, from where you can take Aerobus 2 to the airport or the more frequent and cheaper metro (subway) train. Eitehr way will take 25 -30 minutes.
Normal timetables apply on Thursday 13th April, however the Sunday times will apply on Friday 14th, Good Friday.
Check the times and buy tickets at http://www.rede-expressos.pt up to 30 days in advance.
The current timetable has just the one departure to Lisbon, at 0920 every day, holidays included. I believe this trip stops outside the village on the main road, check locally so as not to miss it! Arrival in Lisbon Sete Rios is at 1250.
I hope that helps.
@cubsur, thanks for your previous info! I'm stuck with booking the last leg of our own trip this October and have everything locked in place EXCEPT how to get back from Odeceixe to Lisbon somehow on Sunday 13th October! Any local knowledge much appreciated re. taxi options etc to a transport hub to Lisbon. Thanks Steve
You are too early to buy tickets for 13th October. They are sold only 1 month ahead. Times will be these :
https://www.rede-expressos.pt/tickets?destination=1&source=966
The stop for Odecieixe is on the main road by the bridge over the river, a good walk from the village centre.
That is your lot! No other coaches or buses stop at Odeceixe on Sundays. I would baulk at the idea of a taxi for a 219km / 137 mile journey.
The next town up the road, São Teotonio, has an afternoon service to Lisbon at 1630, if you can find something to take you there from Odeceixe. That one passes Odeceixe, but obviously the village is unworthy of it stopping there.
Many thanks for reminding about month ahead. Calendar reminder was set in Spring and forgot about that!
