Aldeia

Hi, Has anybody stayed at or know this village, just to north of Santa Barbara de Nexe?

Wondering about options for eating out in the evening?

No air con in June?

Mossies?

Security?

Will have car, but older tourists.

Thanks

I'm sorry but which village? Santa Barbara de Nexe? "Aldeia" is the portuguese word for small village. I suppose you'll be refering to some kind of resort that has Aldeia on it's name.

Aldeia is only 15 min. walking north of SBdeN and more of a dwelling. The area of SBdeN is north of Faro in a hilly and green environment. It's a location where many ex-pats have settled and very convenient to reach all over the Algarve. The area has enough restaurants to choose from.

Depending on where the house is located there can be a breeze at night because of the height. Otherwise check if there are fans.

Mossies are unpredictable. They could be around or not.

Security depends on the property. Is it fenced? Are there shutters? Are there neighbors around?

If you have a car you'll be fine there. It's a very easy location to make your base. The only negative factor is that it is North of Faro and the airport, and I don't know if there's any air traffic in the area of SBdN.

An alternative you could look at is the surroundings of Loule or Sao Bras.

Distances are very small here and traffic is easy.

Hope that helps.

There won't be any air traffic. Depending on wind direction, planes take off either east or west then turn north over Vilamoura or Olhão. Incoming flights take a shallow approach mostly over the sea from Albufeira or Tavira.

It's a nice area around Santa Barbara de Nexe.
