AC needed in July?

We are 2 adults and 3 kids and I am looking for a while now for a nice place in Scopello for up to 4 nights (July 11th to 15th). I noticed a lot of the places have no AC. I wonder if I should settle for a place without AC. I usually do not like AC but if it's to hot to sleep I would prefer to have a little AC. How important is it? Thank you.

Most locals don't have it. That tells you how important it is- based on objective criteria. Of course, you may feel different.

Looking up the average temp for july it is around 20-30 degrees C, or 85-88 Farenheit.

I haven't been to Scopello but I have been on that coast in the summer, and although hot, it was ventilated and dry.

With that said, i would want the AC...the locals are used to not having it, I find that I am much less tolerant to the heat than them.

You would require AC in July in Sicily.

Consider Pensione Tranchina.

Sorry the temperatures above were meant to be 28-30, not 20-30...

Thank you Vagabonda,

I thought the coast might be different since a lot of the places do not have AC.

I did email the Pensione Tranchina already but have not gotten an answer yet.

Thank you.

Hi Kathy,

in my opinion AC is not "strictly" essential, it depends of course where you come from... if I'm not wrong you're from California, so not so cold wheater... Sicily in July could be windy, specially in the evening, so with my son I always prefer a powerful air fan! So consider also an accomodation in front of the sea...

Have a good stay, Lorenzo

Go for A/C........why gamble? And we are staying at Pensione Tranchina in early May.

Don't fret.......Marasin WILL get back to you. Send an email every few days.

The ONLY place we do not have A/C is 2 nights in Polizzi Generosa (Agriturismo Cuca) and my fingers are crossed that we will not need it. HEAT may be appropriate. Hmmmmmmm.

Happy Travels.,

We are expecting a very hot summer this upcoming summer after a very mild winter.

Book with AC!!

And yes, Marasin will respond!! She is a sweetheart, and Pensione Tranchina is lovely.

It was sunny and hot today, and I noticed tourists were swimming at Isola Bella!!
