Trekking from a Mountain Air Guided Adventures(p.) ltd. ??

Hello everyone,

According to my friend recommendation the company Mountain Air Guided Adventures(p.) ltd. in Thamel, kathmandu nepal for the Everest base camp trek 12 days.I only pay the food myself, they organized the room, flight ticket to lukla to kathamndu and ktm. to lukla. They give the prices usd 700 for the document, flight ticket and guide. Anyone can suggest me about this? can i go alone or i need a Guide for that trip?? it would be easy for me if you give some opinion.

Taking a guide is not just to show trail if you are in good hands. It is a better way to know the people, culture and a local friend who will help in any situation you need. Though some people write," don't need them" unless you know the important of these people.

Well you have recommendation above, so it should be good one.

700$ for 12 days trekking including Flight for both of you and rooms during trekking is a fare one.

I would also recommend you to pack light while trekking. Packing light helps you to enjoy the trek more then having a little heavy bag cause it releases lots of pressure from your body.

Enjoy your trek

yes, I recommend traveling with a guide. I highly recommend the trekking company I used :Himalayan Glacier trekking company. Spent three weeks on the trail with them and found them to be excellent in every way!! Great organization, food, safety and knowledge of the area was paramount and the price was very good. I wouldn't travel with any other company. Had a great time.I went all the way to EBC and back with them in Nov 2011. They are based in Thamel area of Katmandu.

Safe and happy trails!

Seems a decent price, are you alone or the price is shared with someone? If the agency is recommended to you by your friend then go with them. A guide is really not needed just to walk on the trail however hiring a professional and qualified quite will surely enhance your trek a lot. I personally recommend you to hire but never pay any amount before talking with your staff on your own. Most of the guides said to be professional are not really professional and have very poor knowledge plus poor communication / language abilities.

All the best!
