Hi TayBay05,

I would stay in the park at the Bryce Canyon Lodge. Here is a link to TA members reviews of it: tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g143015-d114878…

It is just a short walk from the lodge to the edge of the canyon. Enjoy your trip!

Depends on time of year. Bryce Canyon Lodges only opens april-october.

If open I would prefer Bryce Canyon Lodge inside the NP. Ruby's Inn has good lodging but we were no impressed by its restaurant. In Tropic are some good B&B's and also Panguitch has places to stay but are away from the NP.

We stayed at Buffalo Sage B&B last year. Nice view from their porch, nice couple running it and nice breakfast. Would stay there again. Reasonably priced compared with others I looked at.

We were not impressed with Ruby's.

I don't think you are supposed to be impressed with Ruby's. Just accommodated with a clean room, food to eat, a pool or hot tub if you want it, nothing great, but acceptable.

In 2004 we were able to get a nice motel style room at Bryce Canyon Lodge. We are going back in May of this year and were able to secure a western cabin with queen size bed and fireplace (I did call in the summer of last year to get the cabin). I would suggest trying to get a place at the Lodge if possible.

Over the years, I have stayed at decent B&B's in Tropic, several forgettable cheap hotels in Panguitch, Ruby's and the Bryce Canyon Lodge (both cabin and motel rooms). In answer to your question, the Bryce Canyon Lodge would be my 1st choice every time.

Maybe a stupid question...

But is Bryce Canyon lodge the same as Bryce View Lodge?
