Worth it, doable?

My wife and I will be traveling from Vegas to LA. We plan to make a detour on the way, up to Sequoia National Forrest. Plan to leave Vegas early as possible December 2nd, half half a day in the park on the 2nd, spend the night somewhere (Wuksachi?), then do another half day the 3rd before heading down to LA. Any and all advise on what to see, where to stay ? How to optimize time. Love to hike and take in as much as possible. Most roads passable early December?

Here is more about visiting Sequoia in the winter

https:/…winteractivities.htm

Best to drive in and out on highway 180.

Three River route has often fog this time of year and over 100 switchback turns.

Wuksachi is the nicest lodge in the park and worthwhile staying there.

Another option is to stay in Three Rivers. And take a tour the next day. (Just in case of snowy/icy roads)

Have you considered Joshua Tree instead? Doubtful they'll get snow, close to Palm Springs.

Keep it on your list, it Sequoia is snowed in, it's an alternate stop. Spend a night in Palm Springs if you like, too.

Yea I was thinking about either Joshua Tree or Death Valley. One better than the other?
