we are driving up from Palm Desert...

and are staying for 2 nights. We are being offered a choice of Wuksachi or John Muir lodging for an early March stay. First of all, I checked the weather and it seems that 60's are normal for that time of year. My question is which lodging would you recommend for such a short stay? Thank you in advance.

Wuksachi is the nicer accommodations and is closer to the Giant Forest and the other Sequola attractions. The road into Kings Canyon will not be open in March so staying at Grant Grove may not be the most convenient area.

March can still be winter with snow possible at the elevation of Wuksachi and John Muir so keep an eye on the weather and be prepared if it snows.

The General's Highway which connects Sequoia National Park and Kings Canyon National Park will not likely be open in March -- due to snow and ice.
