Kia Orana Jeff, welcome to the Cook Islands forum.

Aroa lagoon is under a traditional practice for marine protection. Nothing can be removed from the lagoon including crabs and other sea creatures. The marine protection area is signposted so you can distinguish where the boundaries lie from the shoreline. If in doubt, ask the Big Fish dive centre across the road from the Rarotongan Resort at Aroa Beach.

Kia manuia.

nope. you may not. it's not legal. if you want to go fishing, you will need to connect with a charter. "take only pictures. leave only footprints."
