We did the Seaworld Explorer semi-sub and thought it was okay. On the way out you stay above deck which was nice. We saw a few turtles along the way and it's nice to be out on the water. Once they arrive at the shipwreck site you go below deck where you are seated in front of a port hole window. We didn't see all that much though. There were a few people who must have felt claustrophobic and they went back up. Later that trip we did the snorkel cruise on Black Pearl which we loved. Neither of us had ever snorkeled and we're in our 60's. I would definitely do that trip again.

Have also done the semi-sub and enjoyed it despite getting a little sea-sick. It was a while back and we do not remember being driven to any other sights - our recollection is that they took you to the area of the boat you take to get to the semi-sub. If there is any issue with claustrophobia then the semi-sub is better than the full sub - however, if anyone is extremely claustrophobic then neither is a good choice. When we did the trip we were able to view aquatic life, including some people diving and snorkeling, and a ship wreck. Overall, despite the sea-sickness, it was an enjoyable thing to do. Full sub might be even more enjoyable but we are not going to chance getting sea-sick on that trip.

We did the Atlantis submarine in 2008 and enjoyed it. We had previously tine on a glass bottom boat in Key West. No one in our family experienced any type of sea sickness. We were each given a porthole to look out. It was a great one time thing for us. Loved it but once is enough.
