Looking for a hotel like the Sandpiper -- (closed in August)

Hi,

I'm looking for a hotel like the Sandpiper for our honeymoon. We were going to book there but it is closed for a short time, but it happens to fall on the dates we're traveling for our honeymoon.

Any hotel or villa suggestions would be great!

Thanks :)

Settlers Beach would be a good 2nd choice if Sandpiper is closed since they are adjacent. That would mean that the Sandpiper beach would probably be very quiet and empty when you go. Settlers is a beautiful property and definitely honeymoon worthy.

Try Coral Reef a bit further north. I think this hotel and Sandpiper are linked - by ownership ?. So I wonder if the Coral Reef will be closed as well. if it is not it is wel worthing trying to stay there - it is on the same lovely beach as Colony Club, and has got great charm.

Thanks for all the great responses! What did you all think about the Colony Club or Fairmont? (Fairmont might be out of our budget) Also any great Villas out there?

Hi Katie

Shame about the Sandpiper - Coral Reef is a sister hotel a bit north - also a lovely property but more expensive and not what you could describe as frequented by young party set! It is next door to Colony Club which might suit you better for price and a younger age group. But both suffer from badly eroded beaches - at least that was the case last October and the west coast seems to have had a hard time over the winter. We stayed at Colony a few years ago - I'd suggest a luxury poolside room if your budget fits - ground floor room as you have a patio and then into the lagoon pool.

Personally I'd give Settlers a big body swerve - not at the same standard IMO.

Tamarind Hotel south of Holetown, is a sister of Colony - just had a major refit and looks very modern.

As an option try googling “home and away / holiday rentals” for Glitter Bay. These are individual owner apartments so all unique - but in your budget and right on a very nice beach next door to Royal Pavillion. Large balconies, many seaview, 2 or 3 bedrooms, large pool, beach bar. We're just about heading out there for a return. Good value - but may be quiet in August in common with the island…

Royal P just refurbished last year - and if your budget can stretch is is pretty wow now, and all seaview rooms..

Anyway have a great honeymoon and enjoy Barbados.

Jim
