Canjet...new planes ?

Has anyone flown Canjet recently ( especially out of Toronto). I was wondering if they have updated their fleet with newer planes ? I flew with them 3 years ago and the planes were very old and very basic. I think they actually had ashtrays in the seatbacks...that tells you how old they were.

I have heard they have updated, but canm't confirm for sure.

Canjet is now using the newer 737's. These are the same planes that Westjet uses.

I think it is the entire fleet. The seating may be a bit tighter than Westjet but it is the same plane.

Canjet and other charters lease most of their planes and these are traded back and forth around the world. On Canjet I don't think that I have been on one of their flights that did not have Arabic, Galic or other non-English signage. It really shows how these plane "get around" in a world sense. As for Ashtrays until not that long ago not all countries outlawed smoking on planes, so the plane may not have been as old as you think. I still remember the days of flying Air Canada, smoking and free drinks.

Booked Transat, they sub contracted Canjet last year to Cayo Coco.. My luggage was lost, got it on the 5th afternoon.. toughest time with no clothes to get by other what strangers loaned me.. Neither company stepped up and even gave me some bonus credits, flying Sunwing this year lol.. Canjet is a grab passengers to fill their plane, move on to the next flight, issues can be dealt with through the original seller, Transat in my case, they blamed the plane they hired..Good luck, hope your luggage gets there with you, new plane or not.. They deflect everything back to the company that hired them, and take no responsibility..

I've flown to Cuba on Canjet 3 or 4 times now and have never had a problem. Staff were all courteous and helpful.

Wardenary And you think because you are going with another company things never go missing good one .

Have been with Canjet about 5 times with them always had my luggage as these are things that happen with all of them ....

As for not getting anything back you have a travel agent that should be doing something if not then i guess you have to do it yourself as i sure as heck would not let them get away with it ....

I argued that they sold me the vacation, not Canjet.. they should do something and then they should go after Canjet...

I think I will just move on, my issue is more with Transat.. Sorry for drifting off the original topic, it just brought up bad memories lol

Just flew Canjet and the planes were new enough to do the job :) I definitely would have noticed if they seemed to have seen one to many passengers...

Do all flights to Cuba still do hot meals, it's been a few years for me. I was surprised to receive a hot breakfast and hot lunch on my Canjet flights to and from Cuba last week which was a nice surprise.

Standard seats seemed like a tight squeeze but we usually sit in emergency.

(and definitely no ashtrays to be seen!)
