There is no town as such in PC ...they are trying to establish a down town area where Coco Bongo is situated thou
All tourist clubs are scattered across PC and you will need a cab to get to them ..depending on your hotel you will be able to purchase packages to most of the tourist clubs from reps in the lobby so you should be able to get out and about
there are some small areas with some bars and restaurants but again a cab is probably gonna be needed. Take a look at the El concerito area (spelling may be out) and the area around Steve's bar / drink point
Hope this helps :)
Once your at a resort your pretty much there for the entire time. As for night life you have to hope the resort your staying at has some nightlife(Disco) after the nightly show. Most of the bigger resorts do have them.
Like the other poster mentioned there is an area When we would stay at the Punta Cana Princess they offered a golf cart shuttle to the Bavaro Princess Casino accross the street there was shopping and some bars
It all depends on where you'll be staying there's also the Hard Rock resort and Casino
As pointed out, there isn't much in around PC. Not sure what resort you will be staying at but it's always best to select a resort with good evening entertainment and nightlife if that is what you seek. As indicated, there is Drink Point and Coco Bongo. There is also the club at Hard Rock that is pretty nice.
Go to Cabarete . Problem solved
Thanks everyone - I appreciate the feedback! Is there an area/neighbourhood where the locals live close to PC? If so, is it relatively safe?
El Cortecito is a nice small area with some local bars/restos/shops. Very safe and nice if looking for more local feel and get off resort.
El Cortecito-Los Corales has a decent number of places to enjoy day or night.
You mentioned in another post about booking Hard Rock. Well, that resort is a bit out of the zone in the middle of nothing. You might want to consider a resort in the Bavaro area. Palladium offers a good resort that is well located to walk off the property and enjoy the day or night.
As it has already been mentioned, Coco Bongo is very recommendable if you are into nightlife :-)
The shows they have truly are spectacular, it is an unforgettable experience.
It would be easier to recommend if we knew what resort you were at. Punta Cana resort area is spread out over quite a large area
