For clothes you will need to go to a mall. For souvenirs to OSJ. Dorado is a residential area, not a tourist area.

nytoparis is correct. Although it has big resorts, Dorado is not a touristic town. It's the kind of town you go to get away from everything. For shopping, you'll have to go to San Juan.

There are 2 malls in San Juan: Plaza las Americas, and Mall of San Juan. Mall of San Juan mainly consists of high end stores, Plaza is larger and has all kinds of stores. They both have the same stores and restaurants as those in the mainland US, plus a few local ones. But you don't have to go to the malls as Old San Juan has stores too: local, outlets (Ralph Lauren, etc) amd Marshall's.

For shopping you can also go to the Barcelonetta Outlet Mall. It's to the west for Dorado. About same distance then San Juan

The outlet mall in Barceloneta is a great option. It has some really nice major brands. Do be advice that our sales tax is 11.5%. But for sandals this is a great spot. I have relatives that live in several US states and they all go there for Sandals, and to Plaza Las Americas, as they say our selection is wider and pretty.

For souvenirs just go to a local grocery store and buy local coffee and candies 😄, easy to buy and for all tastes.
