Staying at the Comfort Suites end of April--any comments on hotel and also how far is the walk to the beach and are there chairs to use?
The hotel is ok. Clean and basic, breakfast is included but very standard (toast, cereal, fruit). The beach is not even 1min walk away (it's just behind the hotel beyond the pool). There are lots of chairs and no umbrellas and the beach is really narrow. I think the Sunshine suites is in the same price range and it probably gets better reviews (the beach at SS is across the street but is much nicer than the one at the comfort suites)
Are there bars/restaurants in walking distance to the Comfort Suites? How about the Sunshine Suites?
Which one has a nicer beach area?
Sorry if I hijacked your post
just realized this post was from 2008. lol
Here is a map from the caymangoodtaste.com site:
thanks! great map!
Comfort Suites beach is on the small side, but also just a quick stroll from your room, there are chairs, and nearby places to grab a drink or bite to eat.
Sunshine Suites are not on the beach. About a ten minute walk... walk from Sunshine to main road, cross and then walk north of Governor's House to access Governor's Beach. Nicer beach area by far than Comfort Suites, but no services and you have to tote chairs from Sunshine to the beach.
Agree with other's opinions re:CS and SS. We stayed overnight at CS back in 2007 due to flight cancellation. Basic stuff but they do have free internet in the lobby...downside is there is only one pc and usually has a line. staff is friendly and unpretentious.
