Was just about to post this same thread! We don't want to do any of the formal cruise ship tours either, so this has been helpful.

How about a good lunch spot? Any one if the beach bars, or any suggestions?

Lots of great places for lunch.

If you want a relaxing meal away from the beach but with great views of the Caribbean off in the distance you can't beat Otley's Plantation - a great way to while way the early afternoon - it's like going back in time to the days when sugar was king and you are the guest of honor at the Plantation.

For casual dining, any of the Beach Bars on either Cockleshell, South Friars or Frigate Bay will give you essentially the same type of experience and similar menus (burgers, grilled fish, grilled lobster, BBQ chicken and cold drinks) they only difference being the views (all good) and the people who serve you (all friendly).

For more upscale beach dining try Carambola on South Friars or Spice Mill on Cockleshell.

You can't go wrong dining anywhere on St. Kitts.

Do you know if any of the beaches rent jet ski's?
