Bahamas during Christmas Vacation

Is the weather usually the same year round or does it get to cold in December to enjoy the beaches. Also, are the stores open on Christmas

Late December weather can be described as mild. Daytime temps in the 70's, occasional day in the low 80's. It does get cooler if a cold front passes, then temps could be in the 60's for a couple of days. At night it will get cool, so a light jacket or sweatshirt may be needed. Not much rain that time of year, except with a passing cold front. What type of stores open on Christmas? Most, if not all stores downtown for gift shopping are closed on Christmas Day, and the 26th (Boxing Day). The larger grocery stores will be open for a few hours both days, usually everything is closed by mid-afternoon. Spending time at the beach/pool will depend on the weather, if it's sunny, low wind, then it's not bad. Ocean temps will most likely be a bit cool, not like today where the surf temp is in the mid 80's.
