Easy Pass for Toll Roads

After some advise from board members, I went to Bancomer on Friday to obtain my IAVE Prepaid Toll Pass. It was actually easier then obtaining one in the states. Took less then five minutes. Cost is $100 pesos for the chip/decal plus the prepaid credit you'd like to have applied. Hopefully, it will make traveling the toll roads a little easier. You can add additional amounts online after registering your IAVE number.

English please, we do not know Spanish and would appreciate it if you would speak English on an English speaking forum. We travel the highways of Mexico too, both north and south and would like to know the little nuances you are speaking about. If it is frivolous talk I apologize.

Thanks Bezerk, it just made us feel a little uneasy not knowing what you and Libby were talking about, thanks for clarifying. Sorry for being snotty. We do enjoy all our travels here, we are here for another couple of weeks and haven't driven for two years but hope to do so next winter, it`s a long trek. Once again I apologize.

In terms of online top-up, it wouldn´t take our Canadian credit cards and we couldn´t top up from our Mexican HSBC account.

From what I can see, the easiest way to top up is Vallarta is at a branch of Bancomer. (There are a couple of places you can supposedly top up but I don´t know of any locations in Vallarta. Maybe someone else does).

hmmm, I am still not sure on this, discrepancy noted, the english version says 550 pesos or such for transponder or decal...yet OP says 100 pesos....

Next time I go to Bancomer I will have to check....this out more thoroughly, like actual cost to start this, can you just use bancomer debit card for deducted payments or just top off at bancomer, exact benefits etc....
