I just checked the website, and the amount for 2 visitors is 482 pesos (241 pesos each -- the tax increased on 1/1/2022).

Were you successful making the payment on the website? Many have had problems trying to pay on the website, so haven't paid the tax.

I haven’t paid it yet. I can’t see any websites confirming the increase to 241 pesos. Will check with travel agent first before attempting to pay it. Are people having problems paying on the Visatax website then?

If you use the official Visitax website, the amount is now showing as 241 pesos per person.

when flying out of cancun on 11th i saw a bunch of people standing with signs saying about paying the tax but then no other mention about it by anyone.

left and didnt pay anything.

Why on earth are you all worrying about paying online when many people have explained you don't have to pay it and it is never asked for lol.

Tried paying several times via the official (http://visitax.gob.mx) site, but the payment page simply hangs.

Got to Cancún airport and the tax payment desk was unstaffed. Found a rep for the airline and was told the tax is optional, and not to worry.

We were never asked at checkin nor when passing through security.

Where in the Cancun Airport terminal 4 is the kiosk for paying the Visitax of $11 in US funds.

When they're there, the tax collectors are usually near the escalators. You'll see them after checking-in and on your way to security and your gate.

Payment isn't supposed to be in cash.
