Banff national park pass

Hi

We are arriving in Banff from Vancouver on the train, staying a couple of nights in Banff when we will hire a car (probably drive up to Lake Louise) and then driving down to Calgary airport. I'm confused about the national park pass - should we buy one in Banff when we pick the hire car up? If so, where in Banff can we get one? Travel agent doesn't seem to know!!

Thanks!

Welcome to the TA forums.

I am sure that you could buy one at the National Parks Information Office:

pc.gc.ca/pn-np/…information

No time for a run up the Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefields? At least try seriously to do that as a day trip.

Frommy's right, you can just pop into the big Visitor Information Center along Banff Avenue and pick up your park passes there.

And if you go up to the Icefields, there will be a park pass gate at the Hwy 93 north turnoff.
