transportation from airport to hotel

We are arriving at the Calgary airport at 9 am on July 9 and would like to drop off our bags at our hotel (which doesn't have a shuttle) in the motel village area - 16th Ave.) and then head to the Calgary Stampede. We are not renting a car until we leave Calgary 2 days later, because we thought we'd use the C train while in Calgary.

What is our best and cheapest option for transportation to our hotel from the airport? Is there an airport bus or shuttle into the city and then from there we could take the C-train to our hotel? Or is a taxi our only choice?

Thanks!

Your best bet is probably to take the express airport shuttle (Rte 300 BRT) into downtown from the airport: www.calgarytransit.com/route_maps/rte300.html

It costs $8 per person if you board at the airport; ask for a transfer when you pay so that you can continue your trip onto the C-Train for free. Catch the NW (Crowfoot) C-Train from a platform on the north side of 7th Ave to get to your motel, exiting at the Banff Trail station.
