Is a SeaDoo tour worthwhile?

My 15 year old has his heart set on doing a SeaDoo tour of the Vancouver Harbour (see http://www.vancouverwateradventures.com/index.html). Has anyone done one of these? Are the tours good? Any thoughts/comments/insights would be appreciated. Thanks!

Seadoo's are not permitted in the harbour so you might see False Creek/Granville Island but not the harbour.

@ age 15 all that matters is that it goes fast-he won't care about the scenery.

Thank you both! Appreciate the feedback... particularly liked the bit about teenagers liking speed... That is probably the bottom line isn't it? :-)

You do realize that unless he has a driver's license you ( or someone with a license) will be doing the driving and he'll be a passenger..also the waters can be quite busy with sail boats, power boats etc so speed may not be doable....

Rentals are exempt from needing a boater's licence as the government has a one day quickie licence for renters. There might be an age restriction though.

vancouverwateradventures.com/pricing/family.…

The company mentioned in the OP says valid DLs are required in order to get a one day Boater's Licence.

I believe the nautical speed limit coming in by Kits point into False Creek is 5 kn/h (9 km/h)

I know the boaters license is a one day for rental but the company website says DL required for rental.
