Hi gamez_girl;

From Friday's Tourism Ontario Fall Colour report;

ontariotravel.net/publications/fallcolourrep…

"The Fergus and Elora region is still reporting some nice areas of red and yellow. Colours are past peak with about 20% leaf fall."

Fergus and Elora are approx. 21 km from Guelph. Yes, November / December will be much too late !

Best Regards

From the looks of things around Brampton, we're just past peak colour. It's still pretty nice around here, but it won't last too much longer.

Hi Gamez-Girl,

LOL, yes November & December would be waaaay too late, as Fall would be pretty much over and we'd be settling into Winter.

I would suggest that for future visits you might want to plan for around or shortly after the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend (so either the 2nd or 3rd Weekend in October)... by all liklihood that would be just about right.

Cheers!

I saved a bunch of this year's fall colour reports, hoping it'd help me plan in future. (That said, the timing varies every season, so a perfect prediction is impossible.)

Anyway, here's what it said for Fergus/Elora over the last few weeks:

Oct. 9: The Fergus and Elora region is reporting that the green is fading and there are some nice areas of bright red and yellow and a 50% change.

Oct. 13: The Fergus and Elora region is reporting that the green is fading and there are some nice areas of bright red and yellow and a 70% change with about 10% leaf fall.

Oct. 16: The Fergus and Elora region is reporting that the green is fading and there are some nice areas of bright red and yellow and a 90% change with about 10% leaf fall.

Oct. 20: The Fergus and Elora region is still reporting some nice areas of red and yellow and a 90% change with about 10% leaf fall.

Oct. 23: The Fergus and Elora region is still reporting some nice areas of red and yellow. Colours are past peak with about 20% leaf fall.

So it looks like that area peaked about a week ago. For fall colours at this time of year, you don't have to go far from Toronto: there were very good fall colours on Toronto islands today, and High Park should also be excellent over the next week or so.

TO MATTINTO,

Two Thumbs Up... and BONUS Points for saving those Foliage Reports!

They will come in handy when we start fielding Questions for the Fall of 2010.

Cheers!
