NOTL in December

Hi There:

I have a friend coming December 14 and 15. He is from Australia and visiting Canada for the first time. I am taking him to the Falls, and we are staying at the Prince of Wales hotel.

Do you know if there is anything special happening on those dates in December or for Christmas at that time? What do you recommend doing in NOTL at that time?

He likes culture, architecture, paintings, 'Canadian' sports/recreation, landscapes.

Take him to an OHL hockey game in Niagara , St. Catharines or London. Maybe hit a few wineries in the NOtL area. Once the Shaw shuts down for the season, NOTL, usually becomes a sleepy little town.

Shaw festival presents A Christmas Carol.

Wineries will be open. Some of them have fairly unique and/or historical architecture:

the town will be dressed for the season, and lots of lovely beautiful historic homes to stroll by. Check the tourism site for events that will be on.

The Niagara Icedogs are home on the 15th.

The Winter Festival of Lights is on in Niagara Falls then also. https://wfol.com/
