restaurant downtown - casual ambiance good food and drink

We will be staying at the downtown Toronto Hilton friday night before a trip to Jamaica. We are looking for something hopefully walking distance away with a nice atmosphere for a couple that is not exorbitantly expensive but would still offer up a good martini and good food.

Thanks for the input.

Excellent location for a wide selection of restaurants. Any particular type of food that's of interest?

Hilton is right downtown, close to financial district and tourist traps. Better options:

- Trevor Kitchen and Bar (Wellington just east of Yonge - bar side is casual, with great martinis and food).

- La Palette, relaxed French bistro a short streetcar ride (or 20-min walk) away on Queen.
