Hello,

We are from Ontario and planning to visit PEI at the end of August. We are fully vaccinated, but travelling with 2 kids under the age of 12 (not vaccine eligible). Website states PEI pass is not needed for children under the age of 12. Do you know if everyone is being tested upon entry to the island? Will they ask our children to isolate until testing comes back negative?

I’m in PEI now, flew in last week.

Are you driving from Ontario, or flying in? If you are flying, you will be tested upon entry. It’s useful to get seats at the front of the plane, otherwise you can expect to wait in line up to an hour. They have a very efficient system set up, but still, it takes time to process a plane load of people. The test is a nasal swab, but not a deep one. A swab is rubbed around, just inside each nostril, for ten seconds each.

If you are driving, you may or may not be tested. Several of my relatives who drove in from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were not tested, but maybe the situation might be different, coming from Ontario.

We are arriving by car from Ontario on August 25th. Four adults, fully vaccinated with PEI passes. Are we still going to be tested at the bridge? If so, how long does the process take? Is there expected traffic delays etc?

Looks like they may require a test based on their judgement and your travel history.

We are from Ontario fully vacinated and just got to PEI by car today. Everyone gets tested upon entry. They request a phone number and you do not have to wait for results they say if you have not heard in 3 hours your results are negative.

Thanks Joe... Good to know. Was there any delay at the bridge for testing. How was the test?

Thanks again.

For us about 20 min wait, but it will depend on the lone up. Test was in nose but not deep.
