Planning a trip in May, what's the distance between the two driving wise?
Also, how many days should be alloted for Quebec City?
Roughly 150 miles.
It depends of your interests... You could stay 2 full days + nights and be happy with it, or 5 days and wish you had more. I'd say 48 hours as a bare minimum.
2 hours by car and 3 hours by train.
thanks to you both!
Well, you COULD spend 5 days there -- the first time I visited it, I spent a whole week and loved every minute of it. But if it meant cutting back on time in Montreal, I'd say stick plan for 2 or 3 days in Québec -- and that includes the Montmorency falls and Île d'Orléans.
If you stick to speed limits, and consider the time spent from downtown Mtl to the highway, and from Qc City bridge to your hotel in Old Town, that will be more than 2 hours actually.
Actually, I do not think I will get any responses as this question has sat here for a few days unanswered. I suspect it is buried in the wrong query. However, I am leaning towards renting an apartment and spending a week in Montreal and then maybe 4 days in Quebec. We are in our 50's and now really enjoy more leisurely travel instead of just getting as much done in a short period of time.
