weather and snow in early May

Thinking of coming up to South Lake Tahoe the first weekend in May. How are the short hikes near there in terms of snow on the trails? I think there is a short hike to a small lake(Eagle Lake?), and another walk that has a beautiful overlook of Fallen Leaf Lake, etc. Can't remember the names of the hikes, but are nearby short hikes likely to be too snowy in early May?

There is still a lot of snow at the higher elevations, North-facing trails, and shady areas. The snow is hard and crusty. May is kind of early for hiking. With proper shoes, you might be fine.
