1. Re: transportation

You have the choice of the regular inter city bus, the company managing that lane is called Autobus Galland, they depart from the main out of town bus terminal in Mtl: Station Centrale d'Autobus, located over the main metro (subway) station Berri/UQUAM. If you come from the airport the bus shuttle from there will bring you there too.

A more convoluted but cheaper way is to take the metro to Laval at Montmorency station, then take the bus CITL no 9 for Saint Jerôme and then transfer to the smaller bus going all the way to Saint-Jovite / Mont-Tremblant.by Transport Collectif Intermunicipal des Laurentides and just get off at the stop for Val David. In fact the stop is on the main road and you will have to walk for around 500 m to get to the village (sam for the big Galland bus). You can also take the suburban train to Saint-Jérôme and transfer again but this will work only during part of the afternoon. This cost about half the price of the regular bus service by Galland: $2.75 for metro, $4 for no 9 and $5 for the intermunicipal exact cash only for each part (no change from the drivers). It takes a bit longer but not so much as you could think.

Hi Shirehorse,

<< Thank You, I would be coming to Montreal train sta. from NY city and was hoping perhaps there was a direct local train. >>

Unfortunately no... The Laurentians are much like the Ski Areas in Northern New England (NH White Mountains - VT Green Mountains - NY The Adirondacks) small towns and pretty rural... although because of the region's proximity to Montreal (Canada's 2nd Largest City) they are a wee bit easier to get to and have a bit more population.

Have a nice visit to The Laurentians.

Cheers!
