Hotel with parking

Looking for a hotel with easy on-site parking, maybe just outside the city centre but easy access into the centre either by walking, on a bus route or a not too expensive taxi for the Easter weekend. It would be nice if it was a hotel with a pool but not essential. What do you recommend?

I went to Chester a year or so back.

Stayed at The Mill Hotel. Just outside the city centre and has ts own car park.

Lovely spot right on the canal, and it is a short (10 minute?) walk from the hotel to the city centre all along the canal towpath.

Has its own health spa I seem to remember (swimming pool etc) - at least hotel guests can use it.

Mill Hotel is your best bet for parking and a swimming pool. It is minutes from the centre too. Not sure whether they charge guests for parking or not.

Abbit's Well is a good suggestion because of the P&R nearby but that only runs until early evening so no good for a night out. However, several car parks in the centre are free after 3 pm until 7 am the next morning so you could take the car in then unless you wanted a drink.

There are several upper end B&Bs or small hotels near the river that have parking e.g. Edgar House and Recorder House. Otherwise, try places in Hoole Road which will have parking and which are walkable from the city centre. None would have a pool though.

You need to book soon for Easter . Chester is a popular short break destination and many of the most highly rated small hotels are almost permanently booked up for weekends. Also book well ahead for restaurants. The Late Spring Bank Holiday last year we found every decent place to eat fully booked for the Friday and Saturday several weeks in advance.

Crowne Plaza is central, has a spa with a swimming pool and has 71 parking places which are FREE though go on a first come first served basis. A bit corporate but perfectly acceptable. Queen Hotel at the station has parking too but costs £10 a day, and not a very big car park. Overnight parking is possible at the Little Roodee car park near the Racecourse.

The Mill has free parking according to their website. I've stayed there 3 times now, and am looking at my fourth. An easy 10 or so minute walk along the canal, and then up onto the City Wall for a short while, to the town centre.
