Things to do with KIds

Hi we are planning to visit South Cornwall between 18-24 july. We are going there for the first time with a 6 yr old and a 3 year old. Is there any place that will interest the kids around the area.

would really appreciate if you can guide us what we can do over the week ,

thanks

Bushra

Will you have a car? As you have posted on the Penzance forum I presume you are staying there. Paradise Park at Hayle is worth a visit. It is a parrot sanctuary but there are many other animals and birds to see as well as parrots. There are guinea pigs and rabbits. You can buy food for the goats. There is also an indoor play area. The birds of prey demonstration and the free flying display are very interesting. If you time it right the children can help feed the Penguins . You can get there by public transport but there is a bit of a walk in Hayle.

If the weather is good then I expect the children will want to spend their time on the beach so buckets and spades are a must.

Lands End is a tacky amusement type park but there is a great little farm at the far end that is really quite sweet.Mousehole is another MUST as both you and your little ones will enjoy this beautiful little place.Porthcurno beach is the best beach in the United Kingdom so that would be worth a day out too.

Sorry Shane, can't agree about Porthcurno, much to steeply shelving for comfort. Good beaches at Praa Sands, and Marazion, which also has rockpools and a playground. Further afield, excellent beaches at Sennen Cove, St Ives, and Hayle/Gwithian Towans - this beach is backed by dunes, great for days when its a bit cold or windy for the open beach.

Penlee and Morrab Gardens are good fun.

Further afield, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, and St Mawes Castle is great to explore.

Hi

Penzance has 2 lovely play grounds on the promenade.

Tide permitting Battery Rocks in front of the Lido is brilliant for rock pooling.

A train ride from St.Ives to St. Erth or vice versa is also lovely.

Penlee House (museum and gallery) has activity for children on Saturdays.

Telegraph Museum at Porthcurnow also runs child centred activities.

A good idea would be to contact the Welcome to West Cornwall Centre - Penzance's TIC

Enjoy your holiday

Thats okay Sandy,My wife,my daughters and i enjoyed Trebah gardens when we visited last year.Beautiful gardens which lead onto a gorgeous little beach. We paid one admission fee and it enabled us to return free for the rest of the week.Another enjoyable day out is the seal sanctuary at Gweek.
