Travelcard from slough....

Hi

We're coming down between christmas and new year and staying in slough for legoland and windsor castle

But on one day we're going to the 1pm show at the abba arena and plan to go into london after it...then obviously back to slough

I believe i can get from slough to stratford on the elizabeth line...but stratford is out of the 1-6 travelcard zone....so how do i go about buying a travelcard for what we need to do?

There'll be 2 adults and 2 children

Help would be much appreciated

Stratford is very much inside the zone 1-6 boundary - it is Slough that is outside.

Your best bet is to buy a Slough to All Zones one-day Travelcard from the ticket office. There will probably be a substantial discount for a family group of four.

And I have just remembered - the Elizabeth Line isn't serving Stratford between Christmas and New Year due to engineering work, you will need to use the Central Line.

I'm not clear at this stage if the Paddington-Abbey Wood section of the Elizabeth Line will be open, although the information I have says it is closed. If it is open, you can change to the Central Line at Liverpool Street.

Sorry i meant slough is outside the travelcard zone....my head is hurting from trying to work it all out!

I'll ask for one of them from the ticket office then

I'm happy with the train into london and tube from there if the elizabeth line isn't operating

Thanks a lot for your help

The off peak day travelcard from Slough will cheaper than the all day one if you are able to travel after 9.30am on weekdays, you can check the times and fares on the http://www.nationalrail.co.uk website.

Checking the times and fares for next Monday the first off peak train is the 09:29 to Paddington, the travelcards will cost £35.40, if you had a Family & Friends Railcard then the price would come down to £28.40.

The travelcards won't be accepted on the train from Slough to Windsor.

BTW, these one day travelcards include one return trip from Slough to London and back.

Ok thanks

The off peak sounds the better option...the show starts at 1 so it won't be before 930 when we travel
