Hello, Several Friends said the best option from Heathrow to our hotel was Dot to Dot. I believe it is now out of business. I am not looking forward to changing from a shuttle to another form of transport. Would a hired car or a taxi be more effiicient and cost effective. Our hotel is County Hall | Belvedere Road, London SE1 7PB, England. Any suggestions?

92 helpful votes It sounds like at least two are travelling; dot2dot could have been pricier than a car service in any event.
If you'd rather not take the Underground from the airport to Westminster station (can be done without use of stairs if need be) then a taxi from there to the Premier Inn County Hall, a booked car service might be the business.
Have a look at www.handicars.co.uk www.london-transfers.com www.simplyairports.co.uk and www.justairports.com A saloon car should be sufficient for two people plus bags, with the trip from the airport to the PI costing about £35 - 40.

You'll be glad to know that your friends were wrong, as per TP above a car service is cheaper, and doesn't involve you traipsing all over London to visit other people's hotels first. This is no doubt why its gone bust about 3 times now, people have wised up. :-)
CaliforniaDonna, while we are very used to shuttles and it is the most common form of public transport to the airport in the states, that is definitely not the case in London. You will find that the car services (that would an extreme luxury here) are a much more economical and common option in London. Besides the ones that TP mentioned, we have used exclusive airports 5 times with excellent service.
