London Trip Planning HELP!

We will be arriving at Gatwick Airport on Jan. 1 and was wondering any cheap but decent hotel in London?

We want to see the main attractions such as Big Ben, Eye of London, Kensington, Buckingham, Harrods. We are also leaving London via St-Pancras Station for Disneyland Paris.

We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 9 and 6).

We are also considering going to the Harry Potter tour.

Please any tips/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot

For cheap and comfortable you can't beat the Travelodge. They have hotels all over London and if you book in advance you can get them for as little as £19 a room. Your food isn't included but at that price paying extra to eat out isn't a problem and some of the hotels offer a buffet breakfast for an additional £7 so its good value. I'm stayed in Caterham (which is great for Gatwick airport) and Convent Garden and no complaints at all. They are clean, basic and comfortable.

Failing that, if you go just outside of London, you get better value. We stayed in Bromley last week with hubby's work. Again good value and only 15mins by train into London Victoria.
