Pub Stay

I am visiting York with my husband next month as a birthday treat. He loves real ales and oldy world pubs so I thought it might be an idea to actually stay ovrnight in a pub/inn rather than a hotel. From looking through Trip Advisor I am interested in the Lion and Lamb, Black Swan and Coach House Hotel. Which one do you think would be best, or are there any other recommendations. We will be walking from the train station. Thank you.

I agree with Ealingblue, the Guy Fawkes would be an excellent choice. It's a lovely building, serves great beer and is close to the station. I think it is a sister pub to the Lamb and Lion, which is only a short distance away.

Hi,

I don't know if you've been yet but you might want to try the bay horse on blossom street. It's a 10 min walk from the train station and city centre. Pub is quite dated but the accommodation is lovely.

Enjoy wherever you stay.
