Glenmorangie distillery is at least 4 hours from Edinburgh if you are driving yourself. Considerably longer is taking public transport.

Glenmorangie is in Tain, so a good 45 min drive from Inverness. Stay in the Royal Hotel in Tain or the Balintore Inn if you want a seaside location.

Hi,

Glenmorangie is certainly a long way from Edinburgh, don't want to put you off, the highlands are always worth a visit, and not wishing to upset the purists, one distillery tour is much like another unless you have a specialist interest, there are distilleries much nearer if time is a factor, otherwise enjoy the travelling

Glenmorangie and Dalmore are quite close to eachother so if you go to Inverness and do those 2 in a day.

For MacAllan and Balvenie that's another full day and staying in Craigellachie (Highlander Inn, The Craigellachie) or Dufftown (http://dufftown.co.uk/) might be best (Dufftown is where Balvenie is located so you can walk to/from the distillery).
