Hotel and Spa

Looking for recommendations for two different things. Best luxury spa in Cork or very close, and have narrowed it down to 3 hotels, Hayfield Manor, The Montenotte and The Imperial hotel (unless you have a better recommendation) Looking to be close to restaurants/pubs/shops and we are traveling with our adult kids. Looking for nice/clean rooms. Thank you so much!

Will you have a car? That would tend to make The Imperial less of a choice. Otherwise it’s very handy for shops, restaurants and bars.

The only other one I’d throw in the mix is the Maryborough House Hotel. It’s not terribly handy for the city centre (although there is a good regular 24h bus goes past it). There are plenty of restaurants and bars that are less than 10 mins walk away in Douglas.

We are going back and forth on whether or not to rent a car. So the Imperial does not have food/shops within walking distance? Thank you!

The opposite! As #1 said The Imperial has shops/bars/restaurants close by so you don't need a car for it. Its right in the centre of the city - a real Cork institution at this stage. Enjoy

Yes. Oliver Plunkett St, which is one of the main three streets in Cork for bars and restaurants is just round the back of the hotel. And Prince’s St, which is full of outdoor dining is about 3 minutes walk away.

The problem with The Imperial is parking. It’s car parking off site about 6-8 mins walk away and it’s limited so there’s no guarantee of a space. It’s an ideal hotel for those visiting by bus, train or plane though.

The Imperial is the pick of the bunch.

Just use the concierge for parking.
