Dublin airport

Hi I have a question about Dublin Airport. We are traveling back to USA from Malaga with a long layover in Dublin. We arrive at 11:30 pm and depart the next day at 11:20 am. Am I able to leave airport and grab room somewhere for a sleep or is this a hassle? Do we collect check bags or do they go on through..any suggestions? 12 hrs is long night in airport. Thank you for help.

If you are travelling on a US passport you will be able to pass through immigration and leave the airport for a night's rest.

Whether or not your bags will be checked through depends on whether your whole journey is on a single ticket. If you are travelling on separate tickets, you will have to collect your bags and then re-check them when you check in for your next flight. In the case of longer layovers, even when travelling on a single ticket, some airlines might require that you collect and recheck your baggage so you need to check with your airline.

If you are flying back to the US directly from DUB, then you will need to be back in the terminal at least 3 hours before your flight to complete US Pre-clearance.

There are two hotels on the airport campus itself - the Maldron and the Radisson, with more in the surrounding areas. Some hotels have shuttle services to and from the terminals but you might want to check that they don't have restricted operating hours before selecting a hotel. You also have the option of taxis and there are two official marshalled taxi ranks, one at each terminal. Taxis will be available once flights are landing.

Assuming exiting airport for midnight, likely earlier then take taxi to Travelodge/ Travelinn with need to be leaving and be at airport for 8am latest.

All easily doable.

We don't know of any hotel called Travel Inn near Dublin Airport. There are two Travelodges near DUB -and one is in a location we wouldn't particular recommend for visitors arriving late at night.

premier inn is closer to airport than Travelodge, and has a shuttle bus. but i am not sure up to what hour. but a taxi would be an idea and would not cost much for such a short distance
