Cordoba train to Seville - one way

Hi guys,

Wanted to ask if it would be okay to reserve only the traintrip from Seville to Cordoba, and no yet our return ticket for the evening? We'd rather decide the same day when to leave. Or would that be problematic? It would be Tuesday 11th of September. We dont mind taking a slower train, we just want to leave all options open, unless there is a small chance we can get on board... Thanks for your advice!

It will cost you since there is a roundtrip discount. Madrid to Toledo, you could move to an earlier return at no cost and the same might be true on your route. There are so many different trains with different prices on your route while all the Toledo trains were the same type, so it might not be true. If you don’t care about the cost then what you suggest is no problem.

The slower train Media Distancia MD will be a good option for return at under €14 and you would get a seat ok. But plenty of train options as you can see on RENFE. You will be fine.

The Avant type train comes up from Malaga and is usually cheaper than AVE and will not have the same volume of passengers that AVE may have.

If you buy return tickets at Seville and elect to return on a train that you consider will be the last one that you wish to take, then the return ticket will have a 20% discount off full prices. And if you wanted to return on an earlier one you can do this at Cordoba.

If I buy a return ticket from the price range of the AVANT - for example at 7pm - and we would wish to take an earlier AVANT train at 5pm whilst we're there... can we do that with the same ticket? Or is every ticket really time-comitted? Thanks again!!

Yes if you want an earlier train you can change. Obviously not one with terms like the Promo but I think that Avant route does not offer cheaper seats like others.
