Getting to Lake Como

HI, I will be flying into Bergamo Airport near Milan at 9:30pm. I am going to Menaggio (Lake Como) the next day. I plan to take a train there. Where is my best option to stay the night?

Would it make sence to take a taxi to Calolizcorte? stay the night and catch a train in the morning to Varenna? there will be 7 adults and 3 children (11,8,6). Thank-you for your time. I look forward to hearing your responses.

I would take bus N°1 ( shuttle bus ) to Bergamo, sleep there, then catch a train to Lecco, change to Varenna then a ferry to Menaggio. It's roughly a 2.30 hr journey.

If you don't want to stay in Bergamo stay in a village along the railway line to Lecco.

Calolziocorte is not on the railway line. However you have a larger choice of hotel etc in Bergamo.

Bye ☺
