Transport from Marco Polo Airport, Venice to Cruise Terminal

I need to get from Venice Airport to the Cruise Terminal pretty quickly, mid afternoon on a Saturday.

What is the best way and any indication of cost.

There will be two adult travellers.

Thanks

You really need to read the answers above before posting the same question over again.

There are no shuttles. Take a land taxi.

Robert, Sorry for butting in so late but would you know if the Marittima to San Marco Alilaguna line runs in the evening? We will be staying over night on our cruise ship May 16 2010 and want to go back and forth to San Marco Square both during the day and also at night ( to hrear the "dueling strings"). I cannot find a schedule for this specific line. thanks ,Jenny

The time table for the Marrone line is on the site, seems it does not run in the evening,

Thanks Sophie8, I thought perhaps I had misread the schedule or that in the spring when ships were in port the M line would extend the running time. I guess now the only thing to hope for is the People-Mover will have the Marittima stop open by mid May.

The cruise ships pull alongside a wharf that is more than a kilometre long. It could be quite a walk to either the Alilaguna stop or the people-mover.

Thanks for the heads up! It looks like a taxi is the answer. Is there a set taxi rate for trips to and from P. Roma to the ship? Or do you pay per person or whatever rate the driver request?

I am assuming that when ships are in there will be taxis waiting to take passengers to P. Roma!

Land Taxi's would charge per Taxi not per person, I do not know the going rate, but I would not think there would be too many waiting, Land Taxi's are not very plentiful in Venice,

Some of these questions might have answers that are specific to the cruise line itself. In that case, it would be sensible to ask them over at the forums at www.cruisecritic.com

The people mover should be open at the end of the month ...It should have been in the next few days but it has been delayed...Again !
