Changes to the GVB network from 1st January.

From the 1st Jan 2012 there are some changes the the GVB network, mainly to bus routes. Some changes have already been put in place.

I saw a few threads about taking the 195 bus to Lelylaan using a GVB pass. This bus has now been discontinued (since the 11th December) and the lines have now been taken over by Connexxion so using a GVB pass is no longer possible.

Bus 69 will now run from Schiphol Plaza to Sloterdijk Station. GVB passes should be OK on this. Of course just jump on the train and you can be there in 10 minutes but I know that extra 2,50 euros can really make a difference to some people (sigh!!).

Tram 25 will no longer go to the PTA instead it will terminate at CS where the 4, 16, 24 etc. stop. I guess this is mportant for those visitors staying at the Movenpik or getting to the PTA. Tram 26 will now run with increased frequency though.

The Tukki tuk tuk service between Rembrandtsplein, Leidseplein and De Pijp at the weekend is also discontinued.

The North South line still isn't finished ;-)

You can see a pdf map of th updated services here:-

STEVE

the #25 went into the loop & a short walk to PTA or Movenpick

The #26 the stop is on opposite side of street with a hike to PTA with stairs to navigate

For those of us with walking difficulty the # 25 worked better
