train; Brussels to Bruges

Staying in Brussels for a few days, want to take a day trip to Brugges. Can I just go to the Brussels Midi station the morning of my trip and buy my ticket, or should I reserve in advance? Will be travelling on a Thursday, just a day trip.

Yes, you can simply buy your ticket at the ticket counter right before boarding your train. Reservations are not possible for commuter trains (unless you are with a large group).

You don't have to go to Gare du Midi, by the way, trains for Brugge call at Gare du Nord and Gare Centrale first.

Hi all, I am trying to find out when the trains are from Brussells Midi to Brugge on the 14th Dec, and more importantly, when the last one is. When I go on to b-rail, it gives me a choice of a million stations in Brugge !!! Can anyone help ? I am staying in a hotel near the Market Square but don't know which train station it is closest to.

There is only one station - you need to opt for Brugge (B)in the options. B is for train (bahn ?) - most of the rest are bus stops (DL = de Lijn, the local bus service).

Hope this helps.
