We have an open day during our stay in Vico.

We will tour Pompei one day and Capri on another, but have nothing planned for the third day. Should we just take in Vico or should we drive along the Amalfi coast?

Visit Amalfi and Positano during the day and spend the evening at Piazza Tasso in Sorrento. Spending the evening in Sorrento puts you close to Vico Equense and your accommodation.

What is it like to drive this ourselves? Is it difficult to find parking in Amalfi and Positano?

Hi

Driving anywhere in this area is not a good idea. Parking is difficult, if not impossible, and expensive. Almost half the cars are dented or scratched and these pages are full of people who have been fined hundreds of euros for speeding, parking or ZTL violations. Apart from that, the transport links are good. As already mentioned, there is a train from Vico to Sorrento bus station and there is a Sita bus which goes along the AC, usually packed with standing room only, or the more expensive but much better, Coast To Coast Coach.

If you never have been there, go to Naples!

Naples was my first thought, too.
